🥚 3.2M Searches, One Killer Product — and a Hard Truth
Some sellers will freeze. Others will dominate. Guess who wins?
Welcome to Issue #57 of the EcomProductFinders Newsletter! 🎉
🍸 Kevin Called Me Out
Less than 7 hours ago, I was having happy hour with my husband, Kevin King, and Charles Chakkalo.
Kevin gave me some tough love, saying my newsletter needs better formatting so it’s easier to scan.
So after two mojitos and one prosecco…
I went back, did the work, and gave it a makeover.
Let me know if it reads better now by replying to this email — or if I still need to tweak it.
Either way, thank you for actually reading it and being conscious about it. That means a lot.

🧠That’s what she said: “Look What She Can Do with ChatGPT”
Yesterday at Sellers Summit, I gave a talk that shook a few brains — in a good way.

Right after my session, a lady walked up to me and said,
"I was talking at lunch with people about how YOU do things with ChatGPT"

v
The only things I showed them:
How to reverse engineer bestsellers on Amazon
How to use SmartScout, Tarify, and VoC AI to validate products before spending a single dime
How to simulate a product idea with 100 avatars
How to scrape competitor reviews and FAQs to build better packaging
And how to go from a hand-drawn sketch to a photorealistic mockup — in minutes
Yep, all using ChatGPT…. and some external tools
I shared exactly how to build your own AI product research tool, validate demand, calculate a healthy price, test your concept, and even gather real human feedback — before you ever order a sample.
Here is a link to the full presentation, so you can dive in and build smarter.
🌍 5 GPT Prompts to Find Global Suppliers in Minutes
If you're tired of chasing dead-end supplier leads, let GPT do the legwork for you.
These five prompts will turn your AI into a world-class sourcing assistant.

Use them inside ChatGPT (with browsing enabled) to get live, verified links and direct contacts from real suppliers.
Here’s how to do it:
Find Verified Manufacturers
“Find 10 verified manufacturers in [CATEGORY] from China, India, and Vietnam with MOQs under 500 units. Include website links and export certifications.”Search Across B2B Marketplaces
“Search for private label suppliers in [CATEGORY] on Alibaba, IndiaMart, and ThomasNet that offer OEM services and English-speaking support teams.Compare Regional Suppliers
“Compare B2B marketplaces by product: Where can I source [PRODUCT] with custom branding, and what are the top 5 links from each region (China, India, Mexico)?”Find Eco-Friendly Niche Factories
“List 5 niche factories in [COUNTRY] that specialize in eco-friendly materials for [CATEGORY], and include links to their official websites and LinkedIn profiles.”Act Like a Sourcing Agent
“Pretend you’re a sourcing agent: shortlist 7 suppliers for [PRODUCT TYPE] that ship DDP to the U.S. and offer WhatsApp or Telegram support. Include their contact pages.”
🚀 Product Research Framework:
From Idea to Viable Winner

STEP 1 - Set Your Filters (Start with a Direction)
Use GPT to define your target criteria before you even open a tool.
Prompt Example:
“Give me 10 product categories with items priced $31–$50, weighing under 3 lbs, non-electronic, and suitable for private label. Avoid categories dominated by major brands.”
đź’ˇ Why it matters: This keeps your search focused and eliminates shiny object syndrome.
STEP 2 - Scout Data-Backed Product Opportunities
Use SmartScout, Amazon Product Opportunity Explorer, or Helium10 to pull keyword data, trends, and listings.
Prompt Example (with SmartScout export):
“Analyze this CSV for products with low competition (under 3 sellers), fewer than 100 reviews, over $10K/month revenue, and low Amazon inventory.”
💡 Pro tip: Filter for gaps—low review counts + high click share = untapped market.
STEP 3 - Validate Demand and Pricing
Before you build anything, validate it.
Prompt Example (with Tarify):
“I want to sell [PRODUCT]. Tariff is [X]%, COGS is [$X], Amazon fees are 30%, and I want a 25% profit margin. What’s the healthy retail price?”
đź’ˇ Use tools like Tarify or GPT math prompts to avoid underpricing.
STEP 4 - Scrape Voice of Customer (VoC) Data
Use VoC ai or scrape Amazon reviews. Feed that into GPT to find buyer pain points and unmet needs.
Prompt Example:
“Here are 500 reviews from top competitors. What pain points are repeated? What improvements are buyers asking for?”
💡 This step gives you the ammo to improve—not copy—existing products.
STEP 5 - Simulate & Validate the Concept
Build a mockup and test it with AI and human feedback.
Prompt Example:
“Create a customer avatar based on these reviews. Then run a simulation poll with 3 product versions (mine + 2 competitors). Which wins? Why?”
đź’ˇ Tools like ProductPinion, PickFu, or simulated GPT polls help you test before investing.
BONUS STEP - Supplier Matching
Once validated, search suppliers using this:
Prompt:
“Find 5 verified suppliers in [CATEGORY] that offer low MOQs, OEM options, and ship DDP to the U.S. Include contact links.”
⚔️ Tariffs Won’t Kill You — Hesitation Will
Tariffs aren’t the apocalypse.
⚠️ Warning: Tariff Trap Ahead
If you deliver inventory into a bonded warehouse while tariffs are at 145%, you’re locked in. Even if China and the U.S. strike a deal later and lower or remove tariffs, you’ll still pay the full 145% — because your goods entered under the old terms. No refunds, no adjustments. Just a painful invoice. So be smart about your timing.
I gathered this information yesterday at the networking event from a reliable source.
But for some sellers, they’re the perfect excuse to freeze.

“Let’s wait and see,” they say — as if the algorithm, the buyers, or your competitors are going to take a break.
This is exactly what happened with the TikTok scare. Remember that? Everyone thought it was getting banned. Half the sellers hit pause for six months… and nothing happened.
Meanwhile, the bold ones built audiences, dominated niches, and raked in sales while the rest sat on the sidelines. Now we’re watching the same script with tariffs. Those who wait will miss the wave.
The ones who adapt — renegotiating with suppliers, raising prices smartly, or shifting sourcing to new countries — will take over the shelf space and rank positions others abandoned out of fear.
Tariffs don’t take sellers down. Fear disguised as strategy does.
Fear doesn’t protect your business — it bankrupts your ambition.
