š When You Donāt Understand the Metrics ā Youāre Guessing
When you analyze your product in APOE (Amazon Product Opportunity Explorer), you must understand what each metric means ā otherwise, youāre just reading numbers without context.
Hereās a quick rundown of what Amazon actually shows you under Niche Details: Insights & Trends ā and how to read it like a pro.
Under Product & Search, youāll see data like Product Count, which tells you how many top-clicked products exist in your niche, and Search Volume, which reveals how often shoppers searched for something related to your niche in the past week.
Search Conversion Rate shows how many of those searches ended in a purchase (this oneās gold).
Then thereās Top 5 and Top 20 Products Click Share, showing how much attention is dominated by the top listings ā if the top five are eating up 80% of the clicks, good luck breaking in.
Sponsored Product Count and Prime Product Count help you understand the ad density and how many listings are FBA or Prime-eligible.
Average Selling Price sets the financial tone of your niche, while New Product Count shows how many listings entered in the last 90 days. But the most important metric here ā the one too many sellers ignore ā is Success Launch Product Count. It shows how many new products (launched 90ā180 days ago) achieved above-average sales for three straight weeks. Translation: itās your āproof of life.ā If that number is low, your niche might be dead on arrival.
Then we move to Brands and Selling Partners. Brand Count tells you how many players are in the field, while Top 5 and Top 20 Brand Click Share reveal how concentrated the attention is.
